Responsibilities

  • Assist with driving performance issues as directed by Line Manager to enable clinical services to meet targets such as the Performance Scorecard. To have the authority to support staff in achieving these through communication and training
  • Work with clinical services and support functions to enable high quality and sustainable data entry requirements across the system in line with local and national standards
  • Carry out audits of patient health records, identifying data quality issues and work with services to support with improving processes, to avoid recurrence
  • Support our Data Quality Networks/drop-in sessions/data quality clinics and be prepared to facilitate sections of the meetings
  • To explore and suggest ways of responding to data quality issues
  • Support management requests (sometimes with short notice) and respond in a timely manner to improve data quality issues
  • Support the team’s Clinical Systems Trainer(s) with the delivery and evaluation of service specific training across Milton Keynes and be prepared to cover in times of absence
  • Provide on-site data quality and data entry floor walking support as needed across clinical services
  • Use appropriate tools to produce data quality and clinical systems support documentation for clinical services
  • Develop an all-round knowledge of clinical services across MK and work with teams to produce, and maintain process maps to be made available to them to support with sustainable improved data entry
  • Use knowledge and clinical systems expertise to provide caseload support to staff to enable them to manage their caseloads and improve accuracy and quality of patient records
  • Be responsible for managing small projects, delivering to time and quality, using information to identify problems and working with others to create and implement solutions
  • Follow Trust procedures and protocols when inputting data into clinical systems
  • Liaise with internal teams, for example the Information team, Clinical Services, Business and Transformation, ADT, CSST and Digital Skills as and when required
  • Escalate any new data quality issues to line manager as soon as possible
  • Act as a Tableau ‘champion’, supporting services to get the best possible outcomes from this BI solution
  • Use the Trust’s Business Intelligence solution (Tableau) to source information as required
  • Communicate information clearly to non-analytical professionals
  • Assist with training new members of the team when required
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a suite of Data Quality Team reports
  • Handle all patient identifiable data in a secure and appropriate manner and to always apply Information Governance principles
