Responsibilities

  • The Senior Architect-Design and Construction is responsible for campus and facility design and master planning that integrates a timeless, consistent image across all IU Health locations by reinforcing the IU Health Brand; providing a positive, supportive patient, visitor and staff environmental experience; creating a physical environment enabling innovation and research; and understanding the System property portfolio as a long-term, strategic asset, which adapt to changing healthcare delivery, care innovation and workforce expectations over a 50-year useful life.
  • Sets the vision and standardization of building components and program through guiding principle development and collaboration with project teams: internal team members and third party design consultants.
  • Develops and oversees branding of the physical exterior campus and building/site integration, and the interior design standards, wayfinding and artwork for the owned and leased property.
  • Supports the development and implementation of fiscally responsible corporate sustainability strategies across the property portfolio.
  • Provides oversight to Indiana Department of Health project submission, review, and approval processes.
  • Collaborates with IU Health Foundation on identifying projects that improve environmental health of patients, staff and communities.
