Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a Director of Supply Chain & Logistics role, demonstrating leadership in supply chain operations.
  • Extensive experience of managing a 3PL from an in-house position
  • Experience within a similar sized 200 mill plus business ideally within Retail and Lifestyle
  • Proficient in warehouse management, including business processes, WMS, and efficiency management through KPIs in an outsourced environment.
  • Expertise in freight procurement across air, road, and sea, with the ability to track global prices and ensure freight forwarding price efficiency.
  • Experience managing domestic and international carriers, ensuring service delivery aligns with cost and service expectations. Familiarity with carrier software such as Sorted or Metapack.
  • Demonstrated leadership in customer service delivery and development.
  • Proficient in contract management, including contract structure, review processes, KPI management, and reporting.
  • Experience managing tenders across end-to-end Supply Chain & Logistics (SV&L).
  • Proven ability to deliver or contribute significantly to strategic changes within a supply chain and logistics context.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day Management Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the end-to-end daily operations, ensuring smooth execution, aligning with the trading plan
  • Develop and manage operational plans for inbound and dispatch customer channels.
  • Monitor and manage each contract to meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on cost, service, and speed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication and collaboration with head office departments to ensure alignment and efficiency to trading plan requirements
  • Deliver annual service KPIs and financial budget for SC (circa. £22 million) across DC
  • operations, direct carriers, freight, transport and consumables
  • Hold overall contractual responsibility for all third-party relationships within the supply chain, build and maintain strong working relationships with all providers, including freight, transport & carrier management including import, exports, customs and duty
  • Oversee TWC packaging management, working to continuously drive enhancements in sustainability along with cost reductions.
  • Implement big data analysis and process enhancements to continuously improve supply chain efficiency, ensuring optimal product placement and timely delivery.
  • Achieve industry-leading service KPIs, collaborating with Digital, Retail, and Customer teams to enhance customer experience across all channels.
  • Establish robust operational plans for the supply chain, incorporating contingencies to address potential challenges
  • Lead the tender process for all supply chain contracts, ensuring fair and balanced evaluations based on a balanced scorecard of financial, commercial, technical, and sustainable credentials.
  • Stay informed about competitive activities in fulfilment, considering their impact on TWC's supply chain strategy, such as same-day delivery or fulfilment from store initiatives.
  • Strategy:
  • Own the design and delivery of the supply chain strategy, identifying capacity, process and equipment constraints and identifying solutions for the next 5 years and beyond
  • Optimize Supply Chain from factory to DC – working with B&M and all sales channels and agreed partners to maximise the efficiencies of consolidation, freight costs and speed of availability.
  • To compile long-term capacity plans to support the business plan growth
  • Sets the programme to drive continuous improvement in all areas of the operation
  • Selects and builds positive working relationships with key service partners, to provide service in line with the customer promise and costs within an agreed framework.
  • Takes full control of the Operations P&L, including capex proposals and requisitions
  • Review the current strategy and develop the business case for future road map
