Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or related field
  • Proven track record 10 years of experience specifically in denim product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills for processes and decision making, and capable of executing strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective communicator.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric, finishes and color.
  • Need to have strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, and Database programs. Illustrator and ERP experience a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to travel to overseas facilities as needed.
  • Deep understanding of denim fabric, construction techniques, denim wash and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development of product that meets rag & bone brand requirements for quality, value, cost, delivery and profitability.
  • Direct the product development costing team to meet margin expectations for all products.
  • Build a high-performance global product development team and fostering a continuous learning to improve processes, problem solving and development skills. In addition, maintain and mentor a professional development team
  • Work closely with the Raw Materials team on innovation products from ideation to product launch.
  • Continuously elevate, improve and execute a comprehensive denim product development strategy aligned with company objectives, market trends, and consumer preferences.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with denim suppliers and vendors to source quality materials, negotiate pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration and execution of denim product initiatives and innovation.
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes and standards to ensure the durability, fit, and comfort of denim products meet customer expectations.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives within denim product development by sourcing eco-friendly materials, implementing responsible production practices, and reducing environmental impact.
  • Manage the denim product development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective execution of initiatives.
  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks to measure the success and effectiveness of denim product development initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
