Responsibilities

  • Read and understand customer requirement documents and determine electrical solutions
  • Follow BorgWarner’s Electrical Design process, including meeting all design standards and providing all process deliverables, in order to develop products that meet customer requirements
  • Design microprocessor-based systems with digital and analog circuits to meet and track compliance to the customer requirements
  • Perform and document worst case analysis on all designed circuits to verify conformance to requirements
  • Select electrical / electronic components to meet customer / circuit requirements, as well as, define and qualify in BorgWarner's system
  • Design within defined cost targets and within defined timeline
  • Perform product testing in lab to assure compliance to capability and customer requirements
  • Direct circuit board layouts to assure compliance to customer requirements
  • Direct the creation and accuracy of the documentation necessary for the high-volume production assembly of the product
  • Ensure electrical design meets customer EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements
  • Trouble-shoot a failed product / circuit, determine short term containment, determine problem (root cause), determine corrective action, and document accordingly
  • Support product builds, including both prototypes, as well as, production
