  • Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
  • Strong skills, to influence and motivate leaders and employees through collaborative engagement and building/maintaining relationships.
  • Fluent in German and English (both mandatory). Other languages would be a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate information to a broad range of people and audiences as circumstances dictate.
  • Ability to successfully manage and develop personnel in remote locations and work in a team environment across a multi-site organization with a variety of cultures.

Responsibilities

  • EHS Manager is Responsible for leading and managing the environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects in the Business line GSI for the HVDC Project in Germany, with a focus on construction and commissioning projects activities.
  • Ability to support Projects organization on different execution scope, like Turnkey project, consortium partner EPC. From Civil Works to end commissioning for all activities for a GRID business.
  • Position will be located on Site (Germany).
  • Main Point of Contact on regards EHS for the Project. Hierarchical reporting to the Regional EHS Leader for Central Europe and Functionally reporting to the Project Director.
  • Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast project impacts.
  • Drive implementation of GE and regulatory EHS expectations within his/her project activities, including at customer sites, workshops in case of need, etc.
  • Actively support the Regional EHS Leader of his/her Business line in EHS matters.
  • Develop strong working relationship with operational team in his/her scope and help drive the expected EHS performance and culture across all operations.
  • Set-up EHS operating rhythm and momentum at customer project site (accident calls, EHS reviews, etc.)
  • Consolidate project EHS data, KPIs., support the Project Team in the incident investigation, Meetings with Contractors, Sub-contractors, etc.).
  • Coordinate delivery of EHS training as required, and control number of people on Site.
  • Coordinate with the regional EHS leader the incident investigation and ensure that investigations of accidents and compliance incidents are conducted, documented, and reported as required.
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.
  • Ensure GE and legal compliance in his/her Project.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits in the project but also to support other regions if need.
