What is the primary role of the Employment Counsel position?
The primary role of the Employment Counsel is to advise and support HR and RELX businesses in the UK and EMEA on a wide range of labor and employment law matters, helping them to fulfill strategies and achieve business goals.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates must possess extensive experience (PQE) as a UK employment lawyer either within a law firm or as in-house counsel, knowledge of EMEA employment-related legal systems and legislation, and a working knowledge of privacy law, mergers and acquisitions, and employee benefits.
What types of legal issues will I be advising on in this role?
You will provide legal advice on topics including HR policies, disciplinary processes, restructurings, data subject access requests, employment litigation, contingent labor, internal investigations, and executive recruitment/terminations.
Will I be responsible for training anyone in this role?
Yes, you will be conducting training on employment law issues for HR and management.
