Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably in the medical device or healthcare technology sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and the development of electromechanical systems.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and projects to successful outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in using project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulatory standards and quality assurance practices.
  • Desired Experience:
  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of power electronics system and hardware connections.
  • Knowledge of robotics principles (kinematics and controls) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MRI system hardware (RF coils, gradient coils, magnet, spectrometer, etc.) and lab equipment (function generator, oscilloscope, VNA, power supply, etc.)
  • Experience with simulation and design software (LTSpice, KiCAD, Altium, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Experience with programming languages (C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Enjoy the challenges of working on time-sensitive and high impact projects.
  • Eager to share and learn from a multidisciplinary team and keen to take on new and unfamiliar tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers in the development of MR-guided robotic solutions and portable MRI systems.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of product development from concept to deployment, ensuring projects meet quality standards, budget, and timelines.
  • Foster innovation and problem-solving skills within the team, encouraging a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Management, and Quality Assurance, to align engineering projects with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the strategy for electrical engineering processes and technologies, including PCB design, power distribution, and signal integrity.
  • Oversee the design, simulation, testing, and iteration of electrical components and systems, ensuring robust and efficient product designs.
  • Manage resource allocation, project scheduling, and budgeting for the electrical engineering department.
  • Represent the engineering team in executive discussions, providing insights, updates, and strategic recommendations.
