Responsibilities

  • Being adequately prepared for daily teaching assignment
  • Preparing daily lesson plans in such a way that orderly development and progress is promoted
  • All teachers shall adopt three levels of educational planning: Long range planning, Unit planning, Daily lesson planning
  • Conducting classes and instructing pupils in accordance with Provincial and school curricular guidelines and policies
  • Undertaking systematic, objective and continuous evaluation of the progress being made by each student, in accordance with the most recent Ministry guidelines
  • Keeping accurate and systematic records of student achievement for this purpose, and issue reports to students and parents according to Provincial and school guidelines
  • Co-operate with school administrative personnel and colleagues in fostering harmonious staff relations, and acting as an enthusiastic member of the school's educational team
  • 30 minutes per week per course for academic support or a cocurricular activity approved by the principal or designate
  • The Employee shall attend and participate in all staff and department meetings, professional development activities, and professional day activities as determined by the principal or designate
