What qualifications are needed to apply for this position?
An Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check (on the update service) is required, along with 2x educational references.
Is training provided for new Exam Invigilators?
Yes, training will be provided, including sessions to update or review responsibilities as needed.
Can I apply if I do not have an Enhanced DBS check?
Yes, GSL Education can assist you with obtaining an Enhanced DBS check if you do not already have one.
What are the main duties of an Exam Invigilator before an exam?
Responsibilities before an exam include reporting to the exams coordinator, keeping exam materials secure, setting up the exam room, admitting candidates, distributing exam papers, and addressing candidate queries.
What should I do if I notice an irregularity during the exam?
You should deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively, record/report any incidents or disruptions, and follow established procedures.
Are there any additional duties expected from applicants?
Yes, invigilators may be required to supervise clash candidates, facilitate access arrangements for candidates (such as being a reader or scribe), and perform other exam-related administrative tasks.

Is there a commitment required for the exam timetable?
Yes, reliable and dedicated individuals who can commit to the exam timetable are preferred, especially during the busy mock exam season starting in October/November.
What happens after the exams are completed?
After the exams, invigilators are responsible for instructing candidates to finish, collecting exam scripts, checking names against attendance registers, securely returning materials, and completing any required administrative tasks.
