Responsibilities

  • Monitor and keep the Group informed about important developments in relevant law or business environment;
  • Assist with keeping the Group’s legal opinions and related manuals up to date;
  • Monitor and keep the London Finance Knowledge Counsel informed about key developments affecting the firm’s key clients and work with them to plan client alerts that are highly relevant;
  • Help prepare and co-ordinate legal and market updates for the Group’s clients;
  • Support partners in the Group on publications, articles, client alerts, speeches and other thought leadership initiatives;
  • Work with the Information Centre and London Finance Knowledge Counsel in relation to resource related matters.
  • Maintain, via the Firm’s “Global Knowledge Bank (GKB)” practice-related knowledge resources, which include in particular standard forms and accompanying notes, precedent documents, best practices and how-to memos, legal research documents and other materials useful to the Group, as-well as other relevant resources;
  • Maintain knowledge-related aspects of the Group’s intranet site;
  • Work with Group members to create new and improve existing processes to capture practice-related knowledge content and encourage the sharing of information and knowledge generally.
  • Work with the Group and the Learning and Development team to identify practice-related training needs and assist with meeting those needs and advise internally on technical legal issues;
  • Develop and deliver legal training for associates to assist them with locating practice-related internal and external knowledge.
  • Maintain projects established, and under development, by the London Finance Knowledge Counsel to meet the Group’s knowledge needs.
  • Participate in regular meetings of the Knowledge Lawyer/Counsel function and Knowledge Department and liaise with other Knowledge Lawyers/Counsel to facilitate the sharing of best practice and knowledge;
  • Provide other knowledge support to the Group as may be assigned by the Leaders of the Group, the London Finance Knowledge Counsel, or the Head of Knowledge Management (Europe).
