Responsibilities

  • Assist the registered nurse in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their relatives/carers.
  • To practice competently, you must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities required for lawful, safe and effective practice without direct supervision.
  • You must acknowledge the limits of your professional competence and only undertake practice and accept responsibilities for those activities in which you are competent; this includes the use of medical equipment.
  • With appropriate training undertake clinical skills.
  • To promote, monitor and maintain health and safety of self and others within the workplace as per Trust Health & Safety Policy.

  • To use in a proper and safe manner the equipment/facilities provided and report any concerns.
  • To refrain from the wilful misuse of or interference with anything provided which might endanger you or others.
  • To report all equipment hazards and defects and take out of use.
  • To report all accidents and near misses and ensure that datix are completed.
  • To maintain and promote Trust policy of safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
