Responsibilities

  • The Security & Fire Systems Technician will perform installation, integrations, commissioning and service activities on access control systems, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.
  • Commission & test Security equipment to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Field coordination and communication, system programming, integrations, commissioning, AHJ testing, and training on new system installations.
  • Evaluate and diagnose equipment that may require servicing as well as troubleshoot potential head-end & field device problems.
  • Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective method in restoring a specific system back to normal condition.
  • Customer satisfaction through coordination, and response to customer requests and problems.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, & closeout documentation upon project completion.
  • Provide reports on daily activities to the project manager.
  • Read and understand complicated blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, software/system programs, and operation/product manuals.
  • Must adhere to all JCI safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete mileage and monthly vehicle reports in a timely manner.
  • Use hand and power tools and test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters, and communication devices as required.
  • Move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work may involve climbing ladders and scaffoldings with equipment.
  • Performing work at heights while positioned on ladders, Aerial Work Platform, and in cramped workspaces such as ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
