Responsibilities

  • Support a wide variety of tailings or water embankment dam projects including:
  • Coordination of field investigations
  • Coordination and interpretation of laboratory testing
  • Design and construction monitoring
  • Geotechnical analysis
  • Dam safety inspections and reviews
  • Provide technical support and leadership on projects and for staff, including conducting technical reviews of calculations and analyses, as well as performing technical analyses where appropriate;
  • Provide guidance, and where necessary, support in coordination, preparation of cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, progress reports, project scheduling / resourcing, and meeting deadlines and budgets on projects;
  • Scoping projects and assisting in the preparation of proposals;
  • Supporting mentoring, coaching, and training of staff;
  • Work with the Branch Manager in the development of new business opportunities;
  • Establishing, developing, promoting, and maintaining relationships with clients;
  • Active participation in the field on a project-specific basis as dictated by the needs of the project to meet client expectations and project objectives;
  • Manage projects and lead multidisciplinary teams; and,
  • Participate in the organization and management of a leading geotechnical tailings testing facility.
