Responsibilities

  • Source, select and secure a suitable range of products for QVC to fit the target market and meet sales targets ensuring the range is fresh and exciting for the customer.
  • Negotiate the best possible prices and conditions of trade.
  • Work closely with Planning to review product performance, plan and grow the product range.
  • Interact with all relevant departments in order to develop a good understanding of QVC operational requirements to aid buying decisions, including, but not limited to Planning, Broadcasting and Distribution.
  • Be aware of inventory levels, taking accountability for the return to supplier process, ensuring stock is returned in a timely manner.
  • Successful Execution of Pricing Strategy for defined product category you are responsible for - Set initial price and margin in line with market and category insights and trends.
  • On-going checks and reviews of pricing in line with category budget and sales forecasts.
  • Regularly meet with suppliers to review product performance and develop new concepts, ensuring products comply with QVC’s long-term objectives and quality standards.
  • Work with other Buyers and the Manager Buying Fashion on developing supplier relationships, keeping abreast of new trends and competitor activity, and taking advantage of new ideas/concepts and products.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure they are executed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all relevant financial information regarding product performance (historical and projected) is accurately prepared as and when required (e.g. year plan, monthly and quarterly reviews).
