What are the primary responsibilities of the Lab Technician position?
The primary responsibilities include setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, performing tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing, inspecting and repairing equipment, and following safety and quality assurance protocols.
What is the required education for this position?
A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.
Is prior experience in materials testing necessary?
While not strictly necessary, prior experience in materials testing is considered a plus for this role.
What specific technical skills are required for this role?
A strong understanding of hydraulic pressure testing, including familiarity with MTS, Instron, Servohydraulic, fatigue testing, and Tinius Olsen equipment, is required.
What is the work schedule for this position?
The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexible start times between 7 AM and 9 AM. Overtime may be expected on a regular basis.
How long is the contract duration for this position?
The contract duration is expected to be between 6 to 12 months, after which there is a possibility of converting to a direct hire position.
Will I be working with other technicians?
Yes, you will be working in a lab setting with 12 other technicians.
