Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial team on legal issues relating to the sale of advertising, with a focus on media and digital advertising and custom and branded content and services, across digital, print, video, social and experiential, including, for example, agreements for traditional and programmatic advertising, talent agreements, competitions and giveaways, non-disclosure agreements, sponsorships, events/activations, product placement and editorial sponsorships.
  • Support the development of standard documents for revenue generating activities and work with commercial colleagues to ensure that agreed processes are being followed.
  • Draft clear and consistent templates and standard terms and conditions for new media, custom and branded initiatives and talent deals.
  • Negotiate standard terms with advertising agencies.
  • Support the Consumer Revenue teams on legal issues related to marketing and consumer-facing revenue producing activities, including, for example, subscription products and e-commerce.
  • Provide training and advice regarding CAP codes and ASA guidance, including requirements applicable to social media influencers.
  • Interpret and advise on Conde Nast’s Global Advertising Guidelines and their application to specific proposed campaigns.
  • Liaise and coordinate with colleagues handling production elements of branded content deals and events and develop workflows to maximise communication, alignment and efficiency.
  • Work closely with our Data Privacy lawyers on issues relating to data use.
  • Work closely with other lawyers in the wider Global Legal & Policy team to manage and deliver day-to-day corporate advice to the Finance teams.
  • Support corporate secretarial workstreams.
  • Support the delivery and management of project based real estate advice.
  • Manage outside counsel where appropriate and necessary.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legal and regulatory updates with a particular focus on consumer laws relating to subscriptions.
