Requirements

  • ideally 4-5+ years PQE working at either a top tier law firm or an international investment bank
  • experience in top tier sponsor LBO financings (expertise in TLBs, familiarity with high yield bonds beneficial), acquisition finance and general corporate finance (experience of funds finance and/or secondary loan trading experience would also be desired)
  • able to demonstrate good technical expertise and communication skills and work effectively with colleagues in other functions, product areas or regions as part of a team
  • motivated, enthusiastic and hard working with the confidence to work outside of comfort zone and tackle new transaction types/products

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for an experienced Leveraged Finance Lawyer like you to:
  • provide legal support to our Leveraged Finance, Corporate Lending and Special Situations Group lending businesses in EMEA
  • work on LBO financings (both TLB and high yield bond format), best efforts refinancings/repricings, IG corporate bridge acquisition financings, general corporate lending transactions, loan portfolio/agency coverage work, impaired loan management/restructurings, structured lending deals and funds financings
  • draft/review highly confident letters, commitment papers, long form documentation and participate in the credit committee process
  • liaise with business teams as well as other internal stakeholders including credit, compliance, COO and tax teams
  • manage external counsel and help develop relationships with key law firms
  • participate in various firm-wide/cross-border projects/initiatives and help draft internal policies and guidelines
  • provide regular training and updates to our business/credit teams on topical legal/regulatory issues impacting our lending businesses
