What is the primary focus of the Manufacturing Engineer II - Final Assembly role at Blue Origin?
The primary focus of this role is to support the final assembly area for the BE-4 rocket engine, implementing new processes, evaluating capabilities, and transitioning processes to production while utilizing data to improve processes and support manufacturing.
What are the key responsibilities associated with this position?
Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing rocket engine assembly processes, translating engineering designs into functional hardware, managing build sequences and quality, conducting DFMA and PFMEA studies, performing root cause analysis, maintaining BOMs and work instructions, utilizing lean manufacturing methods, and collaborating with internal teams.
What qualifications are necessary to apply for this position?
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, an understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing fundamentals, strong technical skills, experience crafting work instructions, and a passion for rockets and space.
Are there any preferred qualifications for applicants?
Yes, preferred qualifications include 4+ years in manufacturing engineering, experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace/automotive industries, knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and rocket engine components, and experience with Creo and Creo Illustrate.

The position offers a Day Shift on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, working onsite.
