What qualifications are required for the Medical Laboratory Assistant position?
Candidates must hold a C grade or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) and possess a good understanding of Medical Terminology.
Is previous laboratory experience necessary for this role?
No, previous experience in a laboratory setting is not mandatory as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
What are the working hours for this position?
The Department routinely works from 9am until 9pm, with core and late shifts. The successful applicant will be contracted to work 5 out of 7 days and participate in the out-of-hours service on weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
How many specimens does the department process annually?
The Department processes around 470,000 specimens a year.
What is the payment scheme for this position?
The payment scheme is in line with Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
