Responsibilities

  • MRI:
  • The MRI Technologist prepares patients for exams ensuring their safety while protecting the rights of each patient served. They treat each patient with dignity and care and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs MRI exams in accordance with establishes protocols ensuring diagnostic quality.
  • Interacts collaboratively with all departments and units to coordinate patient care.
  • Recognize adverse reactions and contraindications and act appropriately.
  • Follow established hospital infection control and safety procedures and use AIDET communication framework
  • Patient care and safety:
  • Follow all proper policies, procedures and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Under the direction of the MRI Supervisor and MRI Leads, perform a variety of MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam at all times, addressing patient concerns in a way that is informative and reassuring.
  • Maintains and protects all safety Zones within the MRI suite to ensure staff and patient safety.
  • Administrative:
  • Captures images and transfers to PACS systems and to physician workstations.
  • Document procedures properly in EPIC, verifying proper demographics and patient histories.
  • Participates in documentation of all quality control and safety logs.
  • Maintains all necessary CEU’s and licensures
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of all work areas and equipment
