Requirements

  • Must present a positive, team oriented attitude and a professional appearance.
  • Ability to adhere to safety standards set forth by the Radiology Department, BMC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and all/any apprehensions, to instruct students and to interact with other staff technologists.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff, ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; to set priorities and solve problems; to respond quickly to emergency requests.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision of the MRI/CT Supervisor, and following established policies and procedures, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. The technologist provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in MRI. Clinical and academic competency is defined as completing training and meeting all clinical responsibilities to all areas assigned, ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises, and holding appropriate registration and advanced certification, as required by the ARRT, and the ACR.
