Responsibilities

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a defined group of patients for whom you are responsible, under the guidance of senior staff.
  • To participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining a system of family centred care.
  • To advise on the promotion of health, recognising the physical, emotional, and social situations that may influence the needs of the mother, baby, and family.
  • To take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the babies and their families.
  • Where responsible for the custody and administration of drugs, to carry this out according to Wirral University Teaching Hospital Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • To participate in Clinical Supervision.
  • To participate in effective communication with all staff in matters affecting patient care.
  • To provide accurate verbal or written information relating the patient care to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be committed to the communication strategy.

What qualifications do I need to apply for the Neonatal Nurse position?

You need to be a Registered Nurse or Midwife with a neonatal qualification, or be willing to undertake Specialty training.

What type of unit will I be working in?

You will be working in a 24-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, level 3, which provides care for infants from 22 weeks and above.
