The main responsibility is to create strong relationships and build philanthropic engagement between the University and its alumni and friends, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors and achieving fundraising goals.
What qualifications are preferred for this position?
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with a minimum of 4-7 years (8-10 preferred) of progressive experience in higher education, demonstrating a successful track record of securing major gifts of $25,000 or more.
Is there a preference for additional certifications?
Yes, preference is given to candidates with a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation, and active membership in AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) or CAGP (Canadian Association of Gift Planners) is considered an asset.
What type of donor interactions will the Philanthropy Advisor be expected to conduct?
The Philanthropy Advisor will engage in highly confidential meetings, face-to-face interactions, campus tours, events, and various forms of communication to build relationships with potential donors and inform them of giving opportunities.
What is the starting salary range for this position?
The starting salary range (at 1.0 FTE) is $63,255.50 to $79,575.80 annually.
