Responsibilities

  • Working as a member of the inter-professional team for weekend coverage, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation and education to the patient, family members and the interprofessional team within a variety of in-patient units.
  • The successful candidate will actively be participating in regular team meetings, liaising with unit level teams, community based providers, advocating on behalf of clients and their families and participation in inter-professional patient and family conferences as needed.
  • The primary area of assignment will be working with our complex care, mental health and rehab populations.
  • This role will primarily work on weekends covering acute medicine or general surgery units. The weekend physiotherapist is scheduled for one Saturday and Sunday shift out of every 4 weekends. Where there is a statutory holiday, this holiday is included in as part of the long weekend.
