What is the main responsibility of the physiotherapist in this role?
The main responsibility of the physiotherapist is to provide a whole person approach to physiotherapy for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, working predominantly with inpatients in acute medical admissions and rehabilitation wards, as well as outpatient settings for chronic respiratory and neurological conditions.
Is this position permanent?
No, this is a fixed-term, part-time position covering a period of maternity leave until 27th February 2026.
What are the working hours for this position?
The working hours for this position are 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What qualifications or experience are required for this role?
Candidates should have experience as a senior physiotherapist and possess skills to provide a high standard of care for a variety of acute, neurological, and respiratory conditions.
Will there be opportunities for professional development?
Yes, the role includes active participation in clinical and service development, as well as providing clinical supervision, support, and training to Band 5 physiotherapists, students, and physiotherapy assistants.
Who will I be working with as part of the team?
You will work as part of a collaborative team that includes GPs, occupational therapists, specialist consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
What support is available for the physiotherapist in this role?
The physiotherapist will receive support in terms of clinical supervision, training, and will be engaged in service development activities, including regular in-service training and quality improvement initiatives.
