Description

  • The Rozenblatt-Rosen and Chen labs at the Cell and Tissue Genomics department at Genentech are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Fellow, with an interest in working at the intersection of single-cell omics, ML/AI and target discovery. The successful candidate will lead the generation of large scale perturbation datasets with multimodal readouts in complex human models and use this data to build predictive models of cell circuits using computational tools including ML/AI.
  • This position will collaborate extensively with scientists in other departments in particular Computational Sciences, Developmental Sciences, Neuroscience, Regenerative Medicine and Human Genetics. Scientific insights resulting from this research are expected to be presented at scientific conferences and published in high-impact journals.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Systems biology, Bioengineering or related field.
  • Expertise in single-cell omics data and/or high-content imaging data analysis (with an emphasis on perturbation datasets)
  • Experienced in applications of computational methods, including ML/AI, to biological data (e.g. transcriptomics, imaging)
  • Familiarity with cell culture, complex human models (3D organoids, co-culture)
  • Familiarity with generation of single cell -omics data at the bench
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate about complex bioinformatics problems to peers, users and leadership.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment together with multi-disciplinary teams of computational scientists and biologists
