Requirements

  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant field such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering, with extensive post graduate experience in the Bridge Engineering field.
  • Chartered Engineer (EI, ICE, IStructE or equivalent recognized professional institution).
  • Extensive experience in bridge-related design work – preliminary and detailed design and inspection and assessment.
  • Proven project management experience delivering to quality, time, and budget.
  • Extensive experience in road/active travel/ rail projects.
  • Previous exposure to clients including TII, NTA, County Councils, IÉ and contractors.
  • Proven ability in using various structural analysis software packages.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of the following in relation to Bridges: Eurocodes, DMRB, IÉ Standards and Cycle Design Manual (or similar international cycle design guidelines).
  • Experience of supporting delivery of infrastructure through the Irish statutory processes including ABP/SID/Part 8 and associated EIA/AA processes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver: Secure and deliver works to new and existing clients, and act as a technical lead for the delivery of bridge work in road/active travel/rail sector projects.
  • Provide Expertise: Project management of schemes including client reporting, programming, resource planning and commercial management.
  • Knowledge: Lead, manage, and develop a delivery-focused team of Engineers and Technicians.
