Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in category management, product management, and/or retail programs in similar or related industry
  • Bachelor’s degree Art or Science, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree
  • Strong financial acumen and business/budget P&L management.
  • Effective project management skills including communication, ability to lead cross functional teams and be highly detailed and organized.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead subject matter expert in food and beverage sold on board, limited to but including main cabin food and picnic packs.
  • Define long-term strategy for retail buy on board program by defining and delivering against budget, consumer and operational KPIs.
  • Make decisions on assortment, annual roll out plan, costs, testing and operational execution.
  • Influence across company and several levels up to Product, Operations, and Supply Chain to maximize profit and deliver smooth program for the onboard experience.
  • Network and manage relationships with vendors, ensure compliance with relevant contracts and represents Alaska’s best interests in contract negotiations.
  • Manage P&L through effective cost management to maximize program performance without downgrading the guest experience.
  • Lead/Own procurement and product performance, understand the market and competitive space, leading to data driven strategy and decisions on product pipeline and development.
  • Leverage (advanced concepts) and collaborate on systems needed to enable program among E-comm and IT stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with inflight product team to test, align and optimize the retail program for FAs to deliver best in class experience retail program.
