Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is experienced in oil field facilities development within consultancy, contractor, or operator roles, with specific familiarity with North Sea practices, existing infrastructure, and design requirements. You will possess a firm understanding of Development Concepts, Commercial, Subsurface, Drilling and Completions, and Production Operations, and is capable of identifying, defining, and analysing complex issues within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • You’ll have experience in developing and managing Project Cost Estimates, Budgets, and Planning, along with a solid grasp of Project Management fundamentals. Being an effective communicator with strong technical, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, able to build relationships, influence appropriately, and lead when necessary is essential. Additionally, you will have experience managing, motivating, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery from both internal resources and third-party consultants/contractors.
  • At a minimum, the successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject and have previous experience in a similar role within the offshore Oil and Gas industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong and developed sense of health and safety within both the working environment and the design process. Responsibilities include preparing key project deliverables and coordinating the development team's input into Peer and Gate Reviews, ensuring consistency among key deliverables such as Project Charter, BOD, ES, DP&B, DSP, FDP, and PEP.
  • The engineer will also prepare robust development schedules and milestone plans, develop field development concepts and cost estimates, and identify key long lead items for integration into development plans. Additionally, the role involves providing subsea, pipeline, and topside engineering input to developments, working with Subsurface, Production Chemistry, Commercial, D&C, HSEQ, and Project Controls teams to generate technical, commercial, and economic development solutions.
  • Effective management of internal and external interfaces to produce results through influencing, consistent communication, and accountability is crucial. The engineer will prepare scopes of work for contractors/consultants, manage contractor evaluation and selection processes, supervise engineering contractors, and ensure the cost-effective and timely delivery of technical, HSEQ, and cost evaluation studies. Lastly, the role involves identifying potential risks and preparing risk mitigation plans for effective implementation.
