Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree from an accredited school and 4-10 years of experience in Transportation design with FDOT and/or Municipal clients.
  • You will have the ability to prepare, read and understand construction plans and technical documents and have a functional understanding of design software packages, preferably MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Our preferred candidate will have their FL PE license or the ability to obtain their license within six months.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position

Responsibilities

  • As a Project Engineer, you will play the lead role in the design and coordination of roadway, drainage, and utility projects for our public and private clients.
  • Collaborate with other groups/disciplines within the company to deliver top quality projects and unparalleled service to our clients.
  • Specific tasks that you will perform including 3D modelling, roadway design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, and plan preparation.
  • Help with proposals, project budgets and schedules, planning activities, and public involvement and other presentation opportunities.
  • Oversee the work of EITs or Technicians.
  • As you advance in your career, you may also plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure that projects are delivered within prescribed time frames and budgets. The coordination activities may include regular communication with the client, project schedule and budget oversight and subconsultant coordination.
