What is the working hours for the radiographer position?
The full-time post involves working 37.5 hours over a 7-day week, but part-time applicants are also encouraged.
Will I have to work overnight shifts?
No, there is no overnight work required for this position.
What facilities are available in the Diagnostic Imaging Department?
The department has two general X-ray rooms, a fluoroscopy room, three ultrasound rooms, and a DEXA scanner.
Are there opportunities to rotate through different specialties?
Yes, there is a Cardiac Catheter Lab which some radiographers rotate through.
What is expected in terms of training and mentoring?
You will be expected to assist in the practical training and mentoring of Radiography students and other healthcare professionals.
What types of examinations will I perform?
You will perform Radiographic examinations on patients referred from outpatients, inpatients, GP's, theatres, and the Accident and Emergency unit.
Where are the hospitals and community services located?
The services operate from Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, and various community healthcare premises.
