Responsibilities

  • To ensure robust governance for food safety and integrity and support the technical and procurement strategic development of key suppliers.
  • Develop and track horizon scanning information relevant to Bakkavor, reporting on impacts to the business where necessary.
  • To support the completion of raw material risk assessments, investigations and audits.
  • Escalate and communicate effectively where risk is identified.
  • Maintain the governance procedures and build and maintain TIC Knowledge Hub.
  • Support site-based teams in risk assessing raw materials and facilitating discussions with suppliers as required.
  • Understanding and applying all relevant Bakkavor, Customer and legal standards to raw materials and finished product packaging.
  • Support investigations of raw material incidents.
  • Gather information from site and supplier sources.
  • Support the incident management process where required.
  • Make recommendations for improvement in supply chain where required.
  • Create and manage incident logs and files, ensuring KPI reporting, trending and feedback into governance processes are completed on time.
  • Responsible for the review and gathering of data relevant to raw material and supply chains, for horizon scanning and risk reporting and development of Knowledge Hub on TIC.
  • Lead raw material trace tests to ensure due diligence and integrity controls for relevant raw materials.
  • Maintain details for due diligence, escalate and make recommendations for schedule adjustment as required.
  • Undertake relevant audits of suppliers on behalf of the group, ensuring all Bakkavor and customer technical requirements are met in full to ensure robust supply chain.
  • To lead and present relevant raw material information where required for customers or audit purposes.
  • Review, trend and report on industry body (FIIN, CBRI, Fera etc.), customer and regulatory sources of information.
  • Escalate and communicate trends or incidents as required.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to drive improvements, where KPI trends are identified.
  • Lead and manage visits to suppliers where engagement is required.
  • Establish a strong working relationship within the Central/Site Technical teams, and Procurement teams.
  • Attend NWT meetings and lead and present KPI data when required.
  • Responsible for the continued review and management of raw material governance procedures.
  • To operate in a safe working manner and support the business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety & the environment.
