Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include: proposal and budget development; University and sponsor policy and guideline interpretation for faculty members and their lab personnel; forecasting expenses and providing regular as well as ad hoc financial reports to Department and faculty; reconciling faculty and lab research needs with overall financial picture and making recommendations regarding spending rates; monitoring accounts to ensure compliance with federal, University and/or sponsor regulations. Other duties include, but are not limited to: acting as effort report coordinator; approving payments over certain dollar thresholds; training lab managers and other lab personnel on sponsored research policies and procedures; assist in implementing policies at the department level and recommend process improvements; help to resolve issues related to research funding and related to migrating and/or transferring labs.
