What qualifications are required for the School Nurse position?
A highly motivated and enthusiastic RN child or RSCN trained nurse is required, ideally with some special needs school nursing experience.

Some special needs school nursing experience is preferred, along with a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in working with children with additional and complex nursing needs.
Will the School Nurse work independently or as part of a team?
The School Nurse will work as a member of the Children’s Complex Needs Nursing Service, collaborating with senior special needs school nurses and other healthcare professionals.
What responsibilities will the School Nurse have regarding care plans?
The School Nurse will lead on the Initial Health Assessment and the drawing up of care plans, working in partnership with school staff, parents, and carers for implementation.
Will the School Nurse participate in training educational staff?
Yes, the School Nurse will be responsible for training and updating education staff using evidence-based competency training packs for various medical procedures.
Are there opportunities for working flexible hours?
