  • You will lead on the Initial Health Assessment and drawing up of care plans and work in partnership school staff, parents and carers in their implementation.
  • Contribute to the public health agenda through Personal Health and Social Education and health promotion activities.
  • You will work alongside the Senior Special Needs School Nurse in order to identify children in need and children in need of protection working in partnership with the families and initiate multi agency working where necessary and to take ongoing responsibilities e.g. Lead Professional within the Common Assessment Framework as appropriate.
  • Participate in report writing and attendance at Safeguarding Conferences, Reviews and Core Group meetings with support from the senior special needs school nurse.
  • It is essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work in partnership with the child’s parents, teachers and other health care professionals, offering support and advice to education staff on health related issues that affect the children within the school setting.
