Responsibilities

  • 1. To provide efficient and effective support to the Programmes Manager for Undergraduate and ITE and all relevant staff in relation to school placement and partnership arrangements.
  • 2. To arrange and negotiate school placements proficiently, to prepare associated communications, to maintain an efficient and effective administrative service to academic staff and students, and to support partnership arrangements.
  • 3. To ensure with the Partnership and Placements Coordinator that all placement requirements are captured for the annual cycle of activity.
  • 4. To match students to the placement offers provided by Local Authority Co-ordinators, academic staff and school partners. To ensure that explanatory documentation is provided to students and schools in good time with all placement details published in a timely manner.
  • 5. To liaise with Local Authority Co-ordinators where additional placements are required and when arrangements need to be changed in order to ensure that every student has an appropriate placement.
  • 6. To record assessment grades, ensuring all assessment documentation is received from Tutors and Schools for meetings of Boards of Examiners.
  • 7. To maintain files of student records and confidential assessment reports and to alert the Partnership and Placements Coordinator to any difficulties arising from the placement of students or the performance of students on placement.
  • 8. To plan and prioritise workload, anticipating pressure points in the academic year, to ensure that deadlines are met and an efficient service is provided to staff and students.
  • 9. To provide administrative support to Director of Partnerships and Placements, Programme Leads and Course Leads in support of school experience activities and fostering good relationships with local authority partners.
  • 10. To participate in the PVG checking arrangements for all new students, ensuring that students are not permitted to progress to placement without the required documentation.
  • 11. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through identifying and supporting the implementation of process improvements to enhance student and staff experience.
  • 12. To undertake any other relevant duties appropriate to the post/grade subsequently allocated by the Head of Professional Services and/or L&T Manager and/or Partnership & Placement Team Lead.
