What age group will I be teaching as an SEN Teacher?
You will be teaching pupils aged 3 - 19 who have a variety of severe learning difficulties.
Is there a focus on specific types of difficulties among the students?
Yes, the pupils have a variety of severe learning difficulties, including some with autism, challenging behaviour, and serious medical conditions.
What qualifications do I need to apply for this position?
You need to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong track record of outstanding teaching in order to understand and cater to the learning needs of our pupils.
Will I have support in the classroom?
Yes, you will have a dedicated and experienced team of support staff in your class.
What kind of training and development opportunities are available?
We provide excellent training and support/mentoring to help our teachers reach their fullest potential.
Are there opportunities for educational research?
Yes, the position offers the ability to undertake educational research.

We work therapeutically, developing a clear vision for the class while maintaining high expectations for student achievement and understanding the complexities of SEN pupils.

Is safeguarding a requirement for this position?
Yes, strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection are essential. Successful applicants must also satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
