 <p>JOB DESCRIPTION<br> Michael Baker International is looking for a Senior Architect in Chicago IL. As an integral part of our multi-disciplinary Architecture/Engineering Practice nationwide, this individual will execute design and documentation for a broad range of project types which includes Transportation, Federal Department of Defense, and Adaptive Re-Use. The Designer will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative design teams with architects, interior designers, site/civil engineers, and building systems engineers. The successful candidate will demonstrate creative problem-solving, organizational skills, strong production management capabilities, and a good understanding of construction documents and constructability. This role will assist with design and development for a variety of projects which include: </p>

  <li>CTA, METRA, AMTRAK, IDOT and DOT facilities nationally. </li>
  <li>Transit and transportation facilities including stations, multimodal transit facilities, welcome centers, material test laboratories, freight yard buildings and bus maintenance facilities. </li>
  <li>Elevator and escalator projects. </li>
  <li>Additional target markets: Aviation, Higher Education, Army Corps of Engineers and DOD clients, Communication Providers, and Transit-Oriented Development Planning. </li>

 <p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES </b></p>
 <ul>
  <li>Engages in activities associated with planning, design, and construction documents including code analysis documents, studies, reports, sketches, schematic drawings, renderings, specifications, final contract documents, and as-built drawings. </li>
  <li>Along with the Project Manager and other design professionals, communicates with clients to establish project scope of work, building program needs. </li>
  <li>Plans layout of project and integrates architectural elements into unified design for client review and approval. </li>
  <li>Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors </li>
  <li>Maintains working knowledge of current industry software including Revit and BIM. </li>
  <li>Other duties as assigned. </li>

  <li>BS/BA in Architecture, or MS/MA in Architecture. </li>

  <li>Demonstrated Building Information Modeling (BIM) [Autodesk Revit Architecture] AutoCAD proficiency, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). </li>
  <li>Strong graphic design, communication and presentation skills are essential. </li>
  <li>Proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients and constructors. </li>
  <li>Pursuing or active LEED BD+C or Guiding Principles Certification. </li>
