Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing, coordinating and executing program-related conferences, conventions, symposia, and signature events, and develops implementation plans for campuswide programming committees.
  • Develops short and long-term project goals and objectives in collaboration with the VPD/CDO.
  • Prepares communication documents for articles, newsletters, reports, and presentations.
  • Serves as a representative of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at events/programs and on committees.
  • This role involves high-level engagement with Emory's seven communities (Faculty, Staff, Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, Post Docs, Alumni, and Community Partners).
  • Establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships with units across the university and with external partnerships relating to matters of programming and initiative development for diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of office website, print materials and branding strategies.
  • Takes the initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues and concerns on behalf of the Office.
  • May supervise work-study or other volunteers/assistants as assigned to projects.
  • Attend events/programs (Atlanta Campus, Oxford Campus, and Metro Atlanta) outside of normal business hours.
  • Works with and serves as a liaison with external vendors, communicates with guests/attendees, and executes all necessary steps for a dynamic program.
  • Provides coverage in the absence of the Executive Administrative Assistant.
  • Assists with scheduling/calendaring when necessary.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
