What are some key responsibilities of the Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer?
Key responsibilities include performing design and engineering work, interpreting client specifications, coordinating with other disciplines and clients, ensuring quality assurance, developing solutions to issues, supporting junior personnel, and possibly acting as the instrumentation & controls engineering Lead on specific projects.
What types of deliverables should a candidate be knowledgeable about for this role?
A candidate should have working knowledge of deliverables such as panel design, P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring drawings, motor control schematics, instrument specifications, I/O lists, and construction or engineering work packages.
What type of experience is required regarding instrumentation calculations and selections?
Candidates should have a working knowledge of calculations and selections related to flow measurement, level measurement, temperature, pressure, as well as process analyzers and sampling systems.
Which control systems should applicants be familiar with?
Applicants should have design/configuration/implementation experience with PLCs (preferably Modicon, GE, or Rockwell), SISs (preferably Triconex), and DCS systems (preferably Honeywell TDC/TPS/Experion, Foxboro I/A, ABBxA).
What level of education is required for this position?
A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position, with an equivalent degree being preferred.
Is there training available for specific software related to this job?
Yes, training in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software, including the wiring module, is considered a plus for candidates.
What is the salary range for this position?
The salary range for this position is $123,958 - $182,291, commensurate with experience.
