Responsibilities

  • As a lawyer in the litigation team you will predominantly provide advice and support to the Council’s Human Resources team.
  • You’ll be part of a team who provide legal advice on varied and complex employment, information governance and equality issues.
  • You will also be part of the wider litigation team and will occasionally provide support with straightforward civil and criminal matters.
  • As part of a wider legal service you will be at the forefront of change as we implement the Council Plan.

There are two positions available: one for an experienced qualified senior lawyer and a second for a less experienced lawyer, including those who may be newly qualified or working towards qualification.

What are the potential grades for this role?

Depending on your level of experience and qualifications, you will join the team at either grade 9, 10, or 11. There is also support available to help you progress through the grades, with the goal of reaching Grade 11 senior lawyer status.

What will be the primary responsibilities of the lawyer in this role?
