Requirements

  • Relevant Degree level education / relevant professional qualifications in law
  • Strong receivables financing / securitisation background is essential; either be an associate in a securitization team in a top tier private practice firm or may be an in-house securitisation lawyer with experience of a wide range of receivables financing transactions
  • Experience of negotiating and excellent drafting skills, as some products/documents are drafted in house
  • Solutions orientated and able to analyse and understand complex financing structures and technical details, as part of the role will be advising origination on developing new products

  • Dynamic and proficient in managing multiple material matters at any one time – able to manage stress and to work calmly and quickly under pressure

  • Telecoms experience is an advantage but not a requirement

Responsibilities

  • Working in a global, entrepreneurial, highly dynamic and driven environment, focussed on the highest standards of execution and delivery of financing products
  • Day to day responsibility for managing the legal aspects of transactional activity, including advising on structuring, managing external counsel to ensure execution within the required timescale and budget, and drafting, negotiating and finalising relevant transaction documents (with appropriate external counsel support on larger transactions eg securitisations) to obtain the best possible terms, including commercial term sheets, mandate/commitment letters, fee letters, securitisation transaction documents, factoring agreements, security agreements, NDAs and intercompany agreements
  • Working collaboratively in large, multi-jurisdictional teams involving experts in the wider Liberty Global Legal team (based across London, Amsterdam and Denver) and other Liberty Global functions and internal stakeholders including Liberty Blume origination, Treasury, M&A, Tax, Accounting/Finance, Reporting, and operational business teams
  • Working with the business to identify risk and escalating where appropriate (as well as recommending mitigation strategies and implementing solutions)
  • Managing upwards, keeping more senior members of the team informed about important issues, presenting clearly and precisely to stakeholders, and enabling others to understand the key facts and issues
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external legal counsel, banks, trustees, etc.
  • Staying up to date with legal developments, as well as supporting the team in maintaining and developing know how, precedents and training materials
