Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver data insights and analytics foundations that includes technology, tools, and data in quality to exploit business opportunities, monetize data (directly and indirectly) and fulfill business needs.
  • Partner with business data domain owner teams to identify the opportunities and roadmap of data driven digital solution and services.
  • Define Visualization and data insights strategy in collaboration with data strategy and business partners to ensure the capabilities and competencies to transform the organization.
  • Provide architectural consulting and solutions to all business domain for data insights.
  • Create, collect, evaluate, prioritize and deliver visualization and data insights use cases in close collaboration with business and global Mercedes-Benz data teams.
  • Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across MBUSA and MB Canada
  • Research and evaluate trends, approach, skills and technologies and bring them to MBUSA AI/ML, data insights and visualization foundation.
  • Collaborate with the info security officer and compliance officer to create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of information assets in data platform during data life cycle.
  • Organize and lead a steering committee to provide transparency of use case backlogs and value.
  • Ensure data driven digital capabilities and competencies required to execute the digital vision and roadmap.
  • Lead Team:

  • IT Stakeholder Management:
  • Close collaboration with other IT functions and departments (local, regional, globally, HQ) and relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate transparency and prioritization of resources and projects.
  • Maintain relationships and ensure regular communication with other IT functions and departments to ensure best practices and solutions are leveraged where applicable to increase efficiencies and reduce time to market.
  • As a trusted partner and technical advisor, work with business partners to define business objectives, and relevant initiatives and technical products to achieve goals (strategic and tactical requirements)
  • Financial Management:
  • Generate financial plans and budgets, following company guidelines and as appropriate within communicated financial context.
  • Find ways to increase technological features and functionality while keeping costs low.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Manage and control relationships and contracts with relevant vendors.
  • Steer 3rd Party Suppliers, as well as internal Service Providers for the successful delivery of projects in area of responsibility
  • Ensure 3rd Party Suppliers and relevant Service Providers compile reasonable quotations on requested requirements.
  • Manage the validation of the deliverables by the suppliers, that it meets the desired expectations, and it is compliant with our Data and Cyber Security Standards, by using effective test strategy and tools, and KPI's.
  • Digital Transformation:
  • Define, execute and manage the digital roadmap, ensuring all products are designed with a customer-centric mindset, addressing the full customer experience.
  • Manage the definition of results and methods to track progress for the transformation journey.
  • Prevent silo thinking and delivery between business partners and IT, and across IT functions by embedding agility at the center of the working model.
  • Acting as a 'Servant Leader' guide and motivate team through 'Project to Product' transformation mindset, working methods and frameworks.
  • Manage dynamic, agile environments, and ensure adherence to all rituals and agile processes. Leverage the appropriate agile methodologies for delivering business value.

  • Communication Relation:
  • Alignment on IT Strategy/ITS Strategy, Stakeholder Management
  • Projects, Change and participate in business strategy development.
  • Manage Demands, conduct IT-Project and Portfolio management, business consulting Develop new/enhance existing system landscapes for the markets in context of projects and system release according to Mercedes Benz standards. Monitor and track planning, building and rollout phases of IT Project portfolio. Steer, support, supervise and manage IT projects, groups and committees, ensure periodic reporting.
  • Implement definition of roles & responsibilities and ensure continual optimization thereof. Establish and manage the IT-Support organization for the Business areas. Develop IT organization, manage recruitment, and oversee personnel development (training requirements, career counseling, job rotation, internal communication & motivation, etc.) and set up an environment of leadership based of the MB values. Develop career plans for potential employees based on LEAD and make decision on employee compensation. Review local IT organization and production depth on regular basis based on maturity of the organization.
  • Manage timely issue solving and good collaboration. Negotiate SLAs and contracts with internal and external partner.
