Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or closely related field with at least 5 years of relevant R&D lab experience in conceiving, planning, and conducting research and analysis for complex technological problems.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a team providing support in hardware engineering and integration.
  • Able to interpret technical documentation and schematics (electrical, wiring, and mechanical drawings).
  • Core fundamentals of math & sciences: mechanics, electronics, basic electromagnetic theory, etc.
  • Creative and resourceful.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Desired Experience:
  • Experience providing rapid prototyping or development, specifically for hardware components.
  • Experience performing test and evaluation activities, especially hardware elements/ factors.
  • Prior experience with medical imaging processing and analysis in a scientific setting.
  • Prior experience with signal processing and/or MR imaging physics.
  • Preferred experience with RF analog hardware (preamplifiers, electromagnetic coils, RF shielding, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in MRI design and development.
  • Perform systems engineering and integration for the design, development, testing, and certification of MRI equipment.
  • Stay abreast with existing and emerging technologies, best practices and lessons learned, skillset requirements and implementation options for our technology.
  • Understand the schedule, cost, and performance implications of hardware engineering cycles.
  • Lead a small group of engineers and technicians in designing and prototyping our MRI systems.
  • Provide hands-on system support for MRI prototype testing, iteration, and development.
  • You will be responsible for the success of multiple projects, including product design and transferring into production.
