What types of ultrasound scans will I be performing as a Sonographer?
You will perform a wide range of ultrasound scans, including renal, abdominal, DVT Doppler, gynaecological, and some small parts, according to Department Protocols. Maternity services are excluded.
Will I be required to report on my own scans?
Yes, you will independently report your own workload of patients and provide written reports to the referring clinician.
Is there an opportunity for professional development in this role?
Yes, you will have the opportunity to participate in research, audit, quality control, and upskill into new scan protocols such as hernia scans and foreign body localization.

You will deliver care to local GPs, QVH outpatients, inpatients, and provide support to surrounding trusts with their imaging needs and requirements.
Is participation in quality assurance activities a part of this role?
Yes, you will be involved in basic QA of equipment and reporting audit as part of your duties.
