What is the role of a Specialty Doctor at ELFT?

Essential qualifications include being fully registered with the General Medical Council and having approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 (or a commitment to applying for this approval).

What does a typical workweek look like for a Specialty Doctor?
On average, the position involves 8 Programmed Activities per week dedicated to Direct Clinical Care, with one additional PA for professional development and the option for 1 PA for special interest or quality improvement work.
Are there any desirable criteria for the position?
Yes, desirable criteria include having a higher degree such as MD or PhD, being on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT, and holding Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification.
What type of experience is essential for applicants?
Applicants should have experience of clinical work in Acute Adult Psychiatry at SpR, SASG, or Consultant level within the last 3 years, as well as excellent working knowledge and experience of the application of the Mental Health Act.
