What responsibilities will I have as a Sr. Test BaseStation Designer at Apple?
You will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration approach, and verification of a wireless test base station. Your duties will also include developing and maintaining cellular protocol device-side host test and network simulation environments, as well as participating in hardware bring-up, performance characterization, and optimization.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Key qualifications include experience in building complex wireless systems and simulations, in-depth knowledge of 4G LTE / 5G NR cellular network architecture, strong software development and debugging skills (including proficiency in C, C++, and scripting), and a deep understanding of 3GPP 4G/5G protocols (L1/L2/L3).
Is experience with specific tools or technologies required?
Yes, experience with implementing test base stations and RAN/CN network emulators (such as Keysight, R&S, Anritsu, Anite) is important. Additionally, knowledge of 5G gNB DU/gNB CU and F1 interfaces, as well as understanding of ORAN split functions architecture and front-haul standards, is a plus.
What educational background is preferred for this role?
