Responsibilities

  • To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team on the Mother and Baby Unit.
  • To work as a primary nurse, ensuring the highest standards of clinical and professional nursing care.
  • Working alongside a named nursery nurse to ensure a high standard of physical and emotional care for infants residing on the unit.
  • To undertake specialist assessments of need which lead to the development of detailed and effective nursing and infant care plans.
  • To collaborate on reports for outside agencies where it is requested for the purposes of the wellbeing of either mother or child.
  • To work on a rotational basis over 24-hour period.
  • To act as a shift coordinator of a period of duty.
  • To participate in the delivery of the ward therapeutic programme.
  • To provide assistance as part of The Mount rapid response team.
