What is the main purpose of the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer role?
The main purpose of the role is to provide quality support to the assigned supply base operations to ensure the integrity of components and products produced by those suppliers and to drive quality improvement efforts with the goal of achieving “zero defects” performance.

The qualifications required include a bachelor’s degree (preferably in engineering), a minimum of 10+ years of manufacturing engineering/quality experience, proficiency in AIAG core tools, knowledge of APQP, inspection techniques, root cause analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machining and assembly processes, and GD&T, experience with Minitab, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Is there a preference for any certifications for this position?
Yes, certifications such as ASQ certification, VDA 6.3 training (with certification preferred), and IATF16949 auditor training are preferred.

Key responsibilities include overseeing product quality for supplied components, reviewing and approving supplier PPAP submissions, performing audits at suppliers, addressing nonconformances using 8D methodology, managing the qualification and approval of product and process changes, supporting new product introductions, and tracking quality performance metrics.
